Veterans Day

I got to witness a beautiful and thrilling parade today downtown for Veterans Day. The planners and participants had brought out their very best. There were helicopters and low-flying planes and armored vehicles and bands. The view down Gay Street from my end of the street was beautiful. There is something enchanting about the street that seems like a throwback to a different time. A large United States flag draped over street down towards the other end. There was much pageantry and some great music from high school bands, and all on a gorgeous day.

The weather today was absolutely stunning. In the early evening, I watched the beginning of sunset from my office and was in awe of the orange wisps of cloud beneath an azure sky to the north with the textured orange, grey, and purple away west towards the sunset. It makes you decide to slow down and just be in awe of the Lord’s grandeur.
